Résumé : Youth engagement in mental health promotion is still scarce in comparison with youth engagement in collective action for other purposes, such as voting or volunteering. This presentation will discuss findings from the Engajadamente Project, which co-produced an innovative digital storytelling intervention for youth participation in mental health in Brazilian schools. Firstly, evidence from the literature on the impact of youth participation on mental health will be explored. Secondly, the methodology of coproduction and the intervention characteristics will be described. Thirdly, evidence of the acceptability of the intervention will be presented. Finally, the lessons learned throughout the research process and implementation will be discussed.

Résumé traduit : L’engagement des jeunes dans la promotion de la santé mentale est encore rare par rapport à leur engagement dans l’action collective dans d’autres contextes. Cette communication présentera les résultats d’une intervention innovante de narration numérique qui vise à promouvoir la participation des jeunes en matière de santé mentale. En plus d’aborder les caractéristiques de cette intervention et de son implantation, cette communication passera en revue la littérature sur l’importance de la participation des jeunes en matière de santé mentale et mettra en lumière les leçons apprises à travers tout le processus de recherche.
